I have always been fascinated by what happens behind the scenes, the final product is always beautiful, however it is the hustle and bustle of what happens outside everyones eyes that intrigues me. I love seeing the organisation, the ways the models relax and act when they're not in the spotlight, the relationship between the team, the racks and racks of clothing and the moodboards. Here are some impressions from the Mode Suisse a couple of months ago. Hope you enjoy!
You might have noticed that I have developed a passion for cobalt blue, it is, after all, one of the key colours for SS13'. Well, I couldn't resist again. When I received this cool skirt from the online store She Inside, I wanted to pair it with something fun and create an original look. She Inside is an online store carrying numerous trendy designs of a high quality, their store is easy to use and they offer great rewards for frequent shoppers, check it out - HERE. This skirt is such a great piece because of the irregular peplum which makes an interesting shape, the material is also very soft and gentle on skin.
I paired this new "coup de coeur" of mine with a vintage YSL bomber jacket and a pair of blue gucci stilettos to create a contrast of colours. The floral shirt is Zara while the neon earrings are H&M. The bracelet is Hermes, and one of my favourite jewelry pieces in my collection, it adds chic to any item. We shot these pictures in the town of Pully down by the beautiful Lake Geneva (hence the boats in the background), and my skin looks exceptionally white because of how absolutely freezing it was and the fact that I am simply incapable of tanning. I really cant wait for summer in hopes of at least getting a glow!
I have never functioned well with technology, don't get me wrong I get around, but when I find out that all the pictures I took in Zurich for the Mode Suisse magically disappeared I was only able to declare that me and technology will never be friends. So this is a VERY belated post about the Mode Suisse event in Geneva, however it is the only one that I have pictures form. This is the second Mode Suisse event that I attended and it was great as always, Switzerland has so many talented designer with amazing creations. Some highlights for me were the Julie Egli scarves which had incredible prints, Stephanie Biggel's urban and modern designs, HEAD Geneve's artistic masterpieces, Little Black Dress' uber cool visors and bright colours. Overall the event was an absolute pleasure to attend with many new talents to discover.
As for my outfit I wore my H&M navy pants paired with a smart shirt from Zara. Alone this would have been rather formal so I mixed it up with some chunky Zara heels a leather jacket from the same store and an H&M bowler hat.
Another post focusing on jewelry and accessories. This time I want to introduce you to Sal Y Limon, a fairly young brand founded by Raffaela Iten Metzger and Mehmet U. Inan both of which worked in advertising, communications and marketing. The two decided to create collections of bangles so plentiful in colour that any girl could find her match. I have loved the brand since I first saw it in stores and was delighted when I received these two berry coloured bangles. Mine are called Sweet Kiss, but very set has a different cute name, visit their website HERE and find a retailer close to you!
I matched these cool bangles with a very spring inspired outfit. I know, floral print - how original, but I can never resist this colourful shirt, it always puts a smile on my face when I wear it! I also recycled this cobalt skirt that you may remember from one of my first posts. I genuinely believe in wearing clothes more than once, and since I have a blog its nice to show you guys how you can style one piece in many different ways. The gorgeous sparkles on my neck is a necklace from Swarovski from their new collection for Spring Summer 2013. On my feet are some sandals from Sergio Rossi with a really hip down their back and a super comfortable heel.
Im so happy the sun is finally coming back (except for today which was rainy which I will forgive mother nature for), I really cant wait to shoot more outfits like this!
I have always been difficult with jewelry. Some like to call it minimalistic, but I like to call things by their names. I prefer wearing one or two pieces of jewelry at a time and I like those pieces to be special. Which is why I absolutely fell in love with these "cosmic neon" Rocks Paper Metal black teardrop studs. Rocks Paper Metal is jewerly brand founded by two designers in Los Angeles influenced by all things ornate, clever and glitzy. This collection was inspired by the stars and galaxies, you can discover the whole collection as well as other pieces - HERE.
These pictures were taken in Prague where I went for a weekend. As you might know I go there quite often because I used to live there and still have many connections to the beautiful city. Due to the chilly weather however, I had to pull out my cozy Iro fur coat, my new Burberry wellington boots which I must say were an immediate "coup de coeur" and my beloved vintage Hermes scarf which was an amazing find due to it's rarity and iconic horoscope design.
